Athletic Project
Over the last few years one of my major conduits of personal growth has been through athletics. Previous to this period I had no concept of leading and athletic life. It just didn't seem in the realm of possibilities with my disability. It wasn't until I started my journey into CrossFit that I began to see things differently. I now hold athletics as one of the cornerstones of leading a healthy and productive life. Furthermore these athletics provide a critical context for my orthotic and orthopedic pursuits. During the week I CrossFit, cycle, run, and play tennis. On the weekends I look for more exotic activities to push my disability and my orthotics to new limits: snowboarding, trail running, rock climbing, obstacle course races, open water swimming... if it's novel, I'll do it.
With this battle of mine fought and won I have now turned to help others walk the same path. I founded the Adaptive Athletics Class at San Francisco CrossFit to introduce CrossFit to adaptive individuals in the Bay Area. I also am on the seminar staff with Crossroads Adaptive Athletics Alliance to train coaches worldwide to work with adaptive athletes. Please reach out if you are interested in participating or supporting either endeavor.
I am always looking to learn, teach, explore, speak and participate in new athletic endeavors. If you can be of some help or think that I may be able to help you, please reach out.
