2010-2000: The Lost decade
I call this "The Lost Decade" because not much happened. I had resigned myself to my condition as it was. I saw professionals only when acute problems arose. Such as brace malfunctions or the occasional injury aggravation. There was a general slow decline in performance of my limb and an increase in pain. At the time I simply chalked this up to an inevitability.
2007-12-06 - Evaluation for Knee Reconstruction
Dr. Kevin Louie - Orthopedic Surgeon - California Pacific Orthotic & Sports Medicine (CPOSM) On a recomendation from Dr. Bost, I sought a knee reconstruction evaluation from the limb salvage specialist at CPOSM, Dr. Kevin Louie. As with Dr. Bost we was skeptical that any additional functionality could be achieved with a knee reconstruction at this point. He advised that the situation be revisited in 10-20 years.

2007-10-24 - KAFO Orthotic Evaluation
Walter Recett - Orthotist - University of California @ San Francisco Orthotic & Prosthetic Center In 2007 I developed my first KAFO orthotic with UCSF. Previous to this just about all of my orthotics were made at Orthopliance in North Hollywood California. This was the first time I took an active interest with the development of the orthotic. I begin to start to push the design toward a performance aim.

2005-01-26 - Consultation for Injury Aggravation - Radial Tear in Medial Meniscus
Dr. Fredrick Bost - Orthopedic Surgeon - California Pacific Orthotic & Sports Medicine (CPOSM) In 2005 I hyperflexed my knee when I ran into a pole while snowboarding. This is the first and only time that I had aggravated my leg injury in earnest during the course of my life. An MRI revealed that I only suffered minor radial tear in my medial meniscus. I engaged in physical therapy to rehab. I was back on the mountain by late march.
